These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13
This may seem a boring topic. If it does, I ask you why? Do you have a thought that you can deal with this later? Do you think you already have heard enough about this? Or does the topic generally not interest you? If these apply, I would suggest you read on, furthermore – that you read aloud and follow the link included. The Holy Spirit of God would not whisper such perilous things into your mind and soul.
We do not have a choice in being born as a baby, but oh, oh the world celebrates our entry! The second birth is infinitely more important than the first. Without the second birth you will not see the Kingdom of God. You will not experience Heaven. Being born the second time will cause you to rejoice and I suspect the angels of Heaven will rejoice over another soul headed home. 1 John 5:13 is often a verse we might share with someone we introduce to Christ, but its original intent was to affirm the faith of what we might consider church members.
Jesus knows His children sometimes doubt that they are saved from Hell, that they are born again. It is so important a matter that we cannot risk getting it wrong. God wants us to enjoy fellowship, friendship with Him and fellowship will be more pure if we are not shadowed with doubt. This short article is for you if you know you are not a Christian, if you doubt your position in Christ and for you that know you are God’s adopted child, for it will be affirming and encouraging.
I am including a link to an exceptional sermon. No matter where you are in your spiritual walk, you will be encouraged. I know why I am a child of God. I know when it happened. This message affirmed it beautifully. My life is fuller and more joyful because of truths like these. I feel like these messages are investments in my life – here on earth and for eternity – because they make me a more thankful woman and they encourage me to live a better life, by God’s grace and strength. This message speaks peace.

I share this with you because I love you. My desire is to add value, hope and joy to your lives. I want to be a real friend to you. This is sort of like enjoying a great meal. We need to be fed more that once or thrice weekly. I always eat at least one meal a day for physical requirements and for enjoyment too. Because I am a child of God, I like to, I need to dine on His Word at least once a day. Our spiritual bodies require food as surely as do our physical bodies. Many of us are trying to eat food that has fewer additives these days. I think this is how my preacher preaches. He gives the truth beautifully without a lot of extra stuff our spiritual bodies don’t need. We leave the table well-fed, encouraged and strengthened. We leave feeling it has been good to be in the house of the Lord.
I watch messages regularly from other good and learned pastors throughout the week, but my primary food comes from home. I know what’s in it. Anyone that know me surely knows I am not perfect, but I have been changed by solid Biblical teaching and truly, did not find it painful. It was more like, “Oh, had I known this before.” Ladies: Don’t dwell on what might have been. Dwell on things that can be!
Let this one great, gracious, glorious fact lie in your spirit until it permeates all your thoughts and makes you rejoice even though you are without strength. Rejoice that the Lord Jesus has become your strength and your song – He has become your salvation. Charles Spurgeon
