Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. Psalm 33:12

Beauty and simplicity at breakfast.

When I checked the news this morning, this picture caught my eye; heads of state sitting down to breakfast at simple place settings. Because table-settings do catch my eye, noticing this was no surprise. What made it special is that is is a perfect example of simple elegance, but more on that another day.

I have an interest in politics and so should you. Think about what our country would be had Hillary Clinton won. Not what it would be like in a few years, but today. What she could have done in a year and a half is scary. Our president is not perfect, but there has only been one perfect man to walk the earth and He died as a sacrifice for the rest of us. Imperfect men – and women – are God’s choice for this world, to be made perfect for the next.

Have you thanked God for His preservation of our country and for the renewed hope we enjoy because of our current president?  I’ve heard folks breathe a sigh of relief after the last presidential election. “We surely dodged a bullet that time.” We have to thank our God for President Trump and pray for him and his family, in every way we can and as the Lord leads. He needs our prayer support.

By the grace of God, I am a better person than I was ten years ago. I think our president would say the same thing. We both have a long way to go toward perfection, but we are headed in the right direction. Upon examination of your life, can you say the same thing?  This is greatly determined by those we spend time with.

How wonderful to have an American president that is pro-American, and without apology. Who, anywhere in the world, would expect anything less of their own president? Ponder this truth and the expectations and accusations placed upon our own president.

The scrutiny he and everyone in his circle bears is unprecedented. Leaders should be examples, but their lives are not examined; they are misrepresented for malicious and selfish purposes. Gone are the days when we look for the best in anyone. The threats upon our president and those that support him at any level are frightening. How many of us are brave enough to put a MAGA with TRUMP on our vehicles? I do not communicate by bumper stickers, but I would be afraid to, fearing that it would be an open invitation for attack to me or my vehicle. Ladies, when you daily pray – pray daily for our country and the those that love it. Prayer is the secret weapon of the “silent majority.”

What a communicator our president is. Why does he draw the crowds that he does? He has become our voice that has been silenced for many years and he says it frequently in the same words we might. I do not like the acceptance of impolite speech in our society, what was once called foul language. Foul language goes beyond the intense vulgarities we hear almost every day.  I do not like coarse language and have greater respect for someone able to communicate using words that are less objectionable, that will not offend the listener’s sensitivities.  While I won’t enter into the discussion of semantics here, I realize that the last sentence I wrote will be offensive to some, but it will not alter the truth I offer for those that want to hear it.

I would suggest you read today’s news to learn how our president opened this breakfast meeting with common sense truths regarding shocking decisions made by our “allies.”  I salute his strength and simplicity of speech.

It has been some time since I dipped my political pen into ink, but for the sake of our country, I think it is the responsibility of Christian Americans to do their part for our country, on their knees first and where they are moved from there. We are to be an example of a believer. Considering the history of the United States I think we must be an example of a patriot too.

When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.  President Donald J. Trump
